Violations of this policy can result inremoval from class for the day and be counted as a class absence6. ATTENDANCE POLICY:Class participation is essential for discussion. Students are expected to attend all classes. Attendance shouldbe taken at the beginning of every class and again after any breaks. Questions regarding the policy may be directed to the Office ofAcademic Integrity.10. COURSE REQUIREMENTS:1. ExaminationsOne midterm exam will be given this semester. It will cover the assigned readings in the textbook, lectures,discussions, handouts and any additional material assigned throughout the 1st half of the semester.2. HomeworkWe will do numerous homework exercises, including journal writings, group projects, handouts, etc. Many ofthe assignments may need to be included in a larger folder assignment later. So please keep all yourassignments together in your binder in order to avoid more work later on.3. Out of Class ExperiencesEach student will be expected to participate in a variety of out of class activities and may need to submit ashort written report about the experience. Some are in the evening.*Students will be required to attend 3 outside of class events for EKU. Students will need to bring inwritten notification of attendance. The first 2 are required by the state but your 3rd outside event I am leavingup to you to choose. Below are the events that you are required to attend:1) Alcohol Awareness : Thursday, September 9 at 7 pm in Brock Auditorium2) Funny Money: Thursday, August 26th at 7pm in Brock Auditorium3) Your Choice: As long at the event is EKU sponsored you choice what your 3rd outside event will be.4. QuizzesQuizzes will be given during the semester. They will cover the assigned reading in the textbook, lectures,handouts and any additional material assigned. Unannounced quizzes may be given. Brief quizzes are givenAFTER ALMOST ALL Readings.5. Advising MeetingsDepending on your progress in the course, I may require you to meet with me during the semester.6. Folder projects and Final ProjectsMany assignments you complete will compile together and become part of a larger project, in order to trackyour development throughout the semester. I will decide the specifics of the final project as the semestermoves along. I like to adjust the project according to the dynamics of the class.
