PAC Support, it Makes SenseAAOPAC Report, Dr. John Beattie“Just because you do not take an interest in politics does not mean that politics will not take an interest in you.”-- PericlesThe AAOPAC supports candidates who support our views on issues such as health care law, insurancemanagement, OSHA, small business tax codes. Some of the issues we’ve influenced: 1099 reportingexemptions, Red Flag Rules exemptions. Some of the issues we’re still attempting: medical device tax,Flex account spending levels. The orthodontists in the Southern Association and especially in the Florida Association have over theyears been known as the most generous givers to the AAO PAC. And again for 2013, the SAO is themost generous of all the AAO constituents. But the level of giving from Florida has fallen! Florida isthe largest state in the SAO by number of members but we barely beat out much smaller states in totaldollars donated. Less than 40 out of 449 total FAO members donated to the PAC last year. We have todo better. We’re not asking for much—all we need is for all of us to give a little. A hundred dollars; ortwo-fifty; even just fifty; or heck, even just twenty-five will help. It’s so important. Here’s how to contribute: check the box when your association dues are paid; go to the AAOPAC websiteand contribute there: or contribute during the FAO meeting in March. The AAOPAC would like to thank the following generous supporters who contributed in 2013 andwould also like to encourage all FAO Members to join this list for 2014.Lori AiosaAmy AndersonGeorge BabyakJeffrey BarlowPeter BayerJohn BeattieBrian BonsAndrew BrownJames CampbellJorge CoroEdward CronauerRonald CummingsLeigh CurtisCarl DannRobert GoldieMyron GraffMichael InsoftBrian JacobusPaul JohnsonMilan KhakhriaWilliam KochenourIdalia LastraThomas LawtonRichard MarianiChristina MartinWilliam NealeKevin O’ShaughnessyJohn PedenShawn PerceGilbert PrincipeJodi PrineJuddson ReedJohn RichardsRandall RigsbyIra RothsteinCasi StubbsSteven TinsworthJames WorthamRenew Your Dental License - End of Biennium, February 28, 2014Reporting continuing education online to renew your license on February 28, 2014 is NOT mandatory. This cycle is an optional reporting cycle.
