Education and collaboration between criminaljustice and mental health providers are crucialelements in promoting prevention. A therapeuticdisposition as opposed to jail sentence is a provenbetter outcome for the mentally ill. Interventions atthe earliest point of entry and increased training suchas Crises Intervention Team (CIT) have been helpful indiverting mentally ill individuals into the mentalhealth system. There are several resources in thecommunity that work; however everyone needs to doit collaboratively in order for positive outcome.
