Clemens TraditionSaturday (1 & 4 pm) and Sunday (12 & 4 pm)in the Louis C. Jones CenterClemens Tradition is an old time fiddle and classic country group basedin Osceola, NY on the Tug Hill Plateau. It is made up of several memberswho perform at venues across New York State and beyond. The groupmembers have over 100 years of performing experience combined. Theyhave performed at The Fiddler’s Fair at the Genesee Country Museum,The North American Fiddler’s Hall of Fame in Osceola, the Fiddler’sGathering at Watkin’s Glen, and the Roxbury Arts Group.Jackie Hobbs is the lead fiddler in the group. She is theGranddaughter of the late “Queen of the New York StateFiddlers”, Alice Clemens. Jackie was 2002 New York StateInductee to the North American Fiddler’s Hall of Fame andMuseum located in Osceola, NY.Diana Lynn, the daughter of New York State Ladies’ FiddleChampion Alice Clemens, grew up performing on the stage.George Harrington has been a professional musician sincethe age of 11. He began his career as the harmony half of theHarrington Brothers and has worked on stage, television andradio.Alice Briggs, also a daughter of Alice Clemens, played percussion for thefamily band in the 1970’s and has recently started performing again.This program made possible by funding fromthe New York State Council on the ArtsFree Family Concertstarting Saturday at 6 pm!The bluegrass groupGravel Yard will liven upthe Museum on Saturdayevening from 6-8 pm.Come early and enjoy a tastychicken dinner before the show.During the show, there will bewine and beer available alongwith light refreshments.
