Access UAOnline from the UAA home page.For new students, a great place to begin is at the UAA homepage, www.uaa.alaska.edu. From there, under Quick Links,choose One Stop. This leads to a page with links to everythingfrom the Admission Process, where you may find the newstudent checklist, to Degree Services, where you’ll find thegraduation process. The UAA catalog, class listing, and mostrecent updates to the printed listing are available through thisWeb site: www.uaa.alaska.edu/recordsFind course descriptions and more information on registration,deadlines, and fees at uaonline.alaska.eduREGISTRATION ON UAONLINEUAOnline Priority Registration will be open to admitted certificate- anddegree-seeking UAA students at 12:01am on Monday, April 6.UAOnline Open Registration begins at 12:01am April 13.UAOnline registration will remain open 24 hours per day, seven days perweek until close of registration. See the calendar for session dates.Expect occasional outages for system maintenance. Telephoneassistance is available during regular business hours at (907) 786-1480,option 3.FAILURE TO MEET FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONSUniversity policy requires a financial hold be placed on yourrecord if you fail to meet your financial obligations. The hold willprevent any registration, transcript, or graduation activity.Past due accounts will be sent to a collection agency. Interest,late fees, and/or collection costs will be added to your account.Past due debt may be reported to a local credit bureau. TheUniversity is authorized to garnish the State of Alaska PFDs forpayment of past due accounts.PREREQUISITESStudents are expected to check and meet all prerequisites beforeregistering for classes. Students who do not meet the prerequisites will beadministratively dropped from the class. Any fees resulting from this, orany late registration procedure, will be the responsibility of the students.REGISTRATION BY PROXYStudents unable to register in person may have a proxy (someone else)register for them. Spouses, parents, and friends are required to have asigned authorization to register for another person, including secondaryschool students.The student must provide the proxy with a signed Proxy for RegistrationForm or other signed authorization to do so. The proxy must submit thesigned authorization and picture ID at the time of registration. An updatedproxy form must be submitted each semester. The Proxy for Registrationform is available at ITYThe University holds students academically and financially responsible fortheir registration. Students whochange their plans or becomeunable to attend must offically dropor withdraw from their courseswithin published deadlines in orderto avoid a final grade of “F” fornonattendance. Courses must bedropped within the 100% refundperiod to avoid tuition assessment.Deadlines will be prorated fortrimester courses or courses with dates other than the traditional fullsemester length. Calculate course prorate dates eryone who wants to take classes at UAA must beadmitted to the University as either a certificate-seeking,degree-seeking, or non-degree-seeking student.ADD/DROP PERIODSee calendar for session deadlines. During this period, a facultysignature is required to register for a closed course and for coursesrequiring department/instructor approval, unless the course has not yetstarted according to the published start date of the course.MULTIPLE REGISTRATIONS FOR SAME COURSEFor any given semester, a student may not be simultaneously registeredin two or more sections of the same course that have the same oroverlapping starting and ending dates. Students attempting to register forcourses that are approved for multiple registrations should contact theiracademic department to request an override.PAYMENT INFORMATIONPayment is due by the published payment deadline even if a bill is notreceived. There will be no University-initiated drop for non-payment.Payment plans are available through Tuition Management Systems (TMS)at www.afford.com/UAA.ELECTRONIC BILLINGAn electronic bill will be generated on the 15th of each monthand made available via UAOnline. An email reminder will besent to your UA-assigned email address each time the bill isgenerated; a paper bill will not be mailed. A link on the UAOnlineStatement and Payment History page will take you to the pagewhere you can pay with a credit card or electronic check. Toview your electronic bill, go to UAOnline and choose Studentfrom the main menu, then Student Account, then Statement andPayment History.SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENT APPLICANTSSecondary school applicants may be admitted on a semester-by-semesterbasis to non-degree-seeking status. Students may register on a spaceavailable basis, as priority is given to certificate- and degree-seekingstudents. Meet with your major advisor or an advisor in the Advising and Testing Center for assistance inselecting your courses. Review any registration restrictions, prerequisites, and special notes that may be associated withthe courses you select (for example, completion of math or English placement test). The UAA campus is over a mile long and the University Center facilityis 1.2 miles from the main campus. Seawolf Shuttles provide an easy way to move betweenbuildings on the campus, including the University Center location. However, it takes time to ridethe shuttle and walk to your classroom. When registering for classes, plan for extra time neededto reach widely separated buildings. See the Building Locations page in this schedule and refer tothe campus map at www.uaa.alaska.edu/maps when planning your schedule.
