MASTER IN FINANCEC a r e e r s RE P O R T 2 0 1 4Although our Master in Finance students graduatedduring challenging economic times, they managed tosecure positions in the finance industry on a global level,as reflected in this 2014 Careers Report.This is the result of our students being well equipped withthe necessary skills and know-how to successfully carryout finance roles with maximum effectiveness, efficiencyand professionalism, as well as the ability to apply financefunctions to create corporate and social value.The Master in Finance’s unique program characteristics,such as a design that limits time away from the workplacewhile providing a well rounded approach to the financialworld, and a focus on niche areas such as Islamic Financeor Microfinance, have resulted in more than 93% of ourstudents finding employment within 3 months of graduation.Out of this percentage, a substantial number of studentsaccepted jobs in Financial Services (72%), Consulting (19%)and other industries (9%).These excellent figures are achieved as we go beyondacademic excellence to include global networking,appealing final exam options and the use of an eminentlypractical approach, combined with an innovative learningmethodology.With regards to regions, the Master in Finance graduatesare based mostly in Europe (81%), with the rest beingdistributed between Asia (11%), the Middle East (2%) andNorth America (6%).1. FACTS AND TRENDSThese recent graduates joined the community of more than50,000 IE alumni who are based in more than 100 countries,both in public and private sectors and all types of industries,with the aim of creating value for their communities.These outstanding placement figures were also achieved aswe are closely aligned to professional practice, given thatmore than 90% of our world-class faculty are practitionersworking in top finance positions.
