We are proud to saluteeach of these attorneys and their firms for making life-changingcontributions to the wellbeing of children in our local community.VINCENT BARREDO focuses his practice onlitigating complex matters before federal and statecourts, including securities class actions and derivativelitigation. He also has experience representing andcounseling technology companies and their directors,audit committees and officers in internal investigationsand before government agencies in matters involvingthe Foreign Corrupt Practice Act (FCPA), accounting violations, securitiesviolations and whistleblower claims. Vincent has represented Fortune 100companies and their directors and officers, in connection with a widevariety of issues including alleged accounting fraud and bribery, allegedmisrepresentation to investors, mergers and acquisitions transactions,contract disputes, activist investors and disclosures. His active pro bonopractice includes work in immigration court for Lawyers’ Committee for CivilRights, assisting guardianship applicants for Legal Services for Children andrepresenting criminal defendants in the U.S. District Court for the NorthernDistrict of California through the Criminal Justice Act panel.TALY JOLISH began her legal career in 1998 as alitigation associate at the firm of Heller Ehrman in SanFrancisco. In 2005, she transitioned to the Office ofRegional Counsel at the Environmental Protection Agency,where she focused on Superfund cleanup sites. She leftEPA in 2018 and has since spent her time on volunteerand pro bono work.
JAMIE KNAUER is an associate in Reed Smith LLP’scomplex litigation practice in San Francisco. Jamie’spractice focuses on commercial litigation in a varietyof sectors, including business disputes, land use issues,products liability, and financial services. Jamie alsoprovides regulatory guidance to companies in the healthcare and environmental fields to ensure compliance with complex federaland state statutory frameworks. Jamie has dedicated significant time toReed Smith’s pro bono efforts, assisting indigent clients in a variety of fieldsincluding immigration law, veteran’s appeals, school expulsion hearings, andmore. Before law school, Jamie performed social work as an AmeriCorpsmember in Boston for LIFT and served low-income students as a programmanager for City Year.ELIZABETH MATTHEWS is an associate at Vinson &Elkins LLP and part of the firm’s complex commerciallitigation practice group. She earned her J.D. fromUCLA School of Law in May 2019 and is enjoying anactive start to her career. So far she has contributed tobusiness litigation matters, government investigations,and a variety of pro bono projects. A former English teacher in Jinmen, Taiwan,Elizabeth is excited to continue working with LSC, particularly in the educationrights context. She is a member of the Asian American Bar Association, BarAssociation of San Francisco, and she is eager to integrate into the Bay Arealegal community.JULIANNA RIVERA MAUL’s Oakland-based law firm,The Law Office of Julianna Rivera, helps immigrant familiesand youth navigate California state and federal immigrationlegal systems. Her firm focuses on Special ImmigrantJuvenile Status cases and she has practiced extensively inCalifornia state courts, including San Francisco, Alameda,Contra Costa, Marin, Monterey, San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Joaquin, Sonoma,Yolo, Placer, and Solano counties. Before opening her practice, Julianna was anassociate at a civil litigation firm in Oakland. She is licensed to practice law inboth California and Michigan and previously worked as a research attorney forthe Michigan Court of Appeals where she received a certificate of recognition forher distinguished service. Julianna graduated from Wayne State University andWayne State Law School in Detroit, Michigan. She now lives in San Rafael withher husband Brian, their son George, and their cat Charlemagne Pickles.

PRO BONO SE RVICE WITH L SCLegal Services for Children recruits, trains, and coordinates a panelof over 100 volunteer attorneys throughout the San Francisco BayArea. The attorney panel represents youth on a pro bono basis inguardianship, school discipline, and immigration cases.
