Also, many thanks to Jeff Hudson and his Team at Baldorfor the tour.b) Chair reminded all the Standard Chairs of the following:Once the standard is issued, the form has to be signed and sent to the IEEE representative,Dr. Kamwa. Please send the pdf file to Aleksandra.-WG Chairs are requested to email/cc Aleksandra with the following information:Names of the WG Chair and Secretary;PAR form;WG membership list;Latest draft of the standard;Any meetings taking place within the Working Group, outside the Spring and Fall meetings;Any communications with the IEEE.Working Group Chairs shall ensure that all eligible voting parties are to be represented.(OEM, Users-Owners, Academia, Independent).IEEE Standards Association requires that a request be made at each WG meeting fordisclosure (identification) of any patents or copyrights that may be related to this work. The chair or the chair's delegate of an IEEE standards-developing working group or the chair ofan IEEE standards Sponsor shall be responsible for informing the members of the workinggroup/participants at a meeting that if any individual believes that Patent Claims might beEssential Patent Claims, that fact should be made known to the entire working group and dulyrecorded in the minutes of the working group meeting. This request shall occur at everystandards developing meeting once the PAR is approved by the IEEE-SA Standards Board.Page 1 of 9

IEEE MSCOctober 2014, GreenvilleThe Working Group Chair or the Chair's delegate shall ask any patent holder or patentapplicant of a Patent Claim that might be or become an Essential Patent Claim to complete andsubmit a Letter of Assurance in accordance with Clause 6 of the IEEE-SA Standards BoardBylaws. Information about the draft standard will be made available upon request. It is strongly suggested that copyright forms for figures or images be gathered as they areentered into the draft standards, so that credit for cited images and figures are maintained fromthe beginning. It is strongly recommended by the Chair to become member of IEEE StandardAssociation. “While membership is not required for participation, membership allowsparticipants to ballot on standards and assume leadership roles in Standards Working Groups.”As per: http://standards.ieee.org/membership/c) We need to be more focused on adherence to the published procedures of the Power andEnergy Society. The Policies and Procedures for PES Electric Machinery Committee WorkingGroups are available at the following PES WG PP-PES EMC Approved.pdfThe Electrical Machinery Committee Organization and Procedure Manual is available here:http://ewh.ieee.org/soc/pes/emc/documents/EMC OpsMan Jun-07 000.pdfAll working group chairs are asked to review these procedures. Working group members arealso encouraged to review the procedures. The expectations for working group membership arespelled out, please note the following.“Member qualifications include voluntary involvement, expertise in the subject, regularparticipation in working group activities, and timely completion of assignments. AWorking Group member is a participator.”In general we need the working groups to function more efficiently. We cannot expect tocomplete the required work in the allotted time if the majority of the working group membersonly contribute during our two yearly face-to-face meetings. Working Group Chairs areexpected to make assignments as necessary throughout the year and group members are expectedto provide support as necessary.4.
