Recentdevelopmentsand our currentsituationIn August 2018, the University acquired BoltonCollege which provides vocational training (inparticular BTEC qualifications) to some 10,000learners. This transaction was the first of itskind in England and, coupled with the formalacquisition of Alliance Learning Limited, allowsfor a ‘one-stop-shop’ within the University Groupfor Apprenticeships all the way from Level 2 toLevel 7. We believe this will be of very significantbenefit to students and employers. These are delivered over threesites in Bolton, North Devon and Bradford collaboratingclosely and strategically with NHS partners and otherorganisations.Introduction to the roleThe University is seeking to appoint a Deputy Head for the School of Nursing andMidwifery to support the existing bold and strategic leadership of the school. Reportingto the Head of School, this role is responsible for contributing to the formulation andimplementation of the academic strategy, ensuring appropriate plans and resourcesare in place for their delivery. The Faculty of Health contributes significantly to theUniversity’s activities and it is host to a tremendously diverse range of health and socialcare professional education programmes. At any one time, 1700 professionals aretypically in training across numerous programmes in three schools.You will be an established leader in your field and have considerable academic andpersonal credibility in a relevant discipline, as well as a commitment to workingcollaboratively and in partnership with staff and students across the School, Faculty,and more widely.
