Remember, as a short story, you need anengaging opening to hook your reader in quickly, and have aclimactic or unexpected twist at the end, to keep them thinkingabout your story long after they’ve finished reading it.2. Atmosphere is also incredibly important in Gothic horror. How doyou want the reader to feel when reading your story? Scared?Uneasy? How can you use thoughtful characterisation anddescriptive language to achieve this?3. Can you ‘borrow’ some of the features you have covered from thegothic tales read?4.
