General InformationRECOMMENDED LUBRICANTSAMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE CHART Select an oilviscosity, from the chart, based on the airtemperature range expected between oil changes.AIR TEMPERATURE RANGEFahrenheit (OF)Celsius (OC)-67-55-40-40-22-30I-414 32-20 -100II I I IIIIIIIIIIIIII II II I501086301044012250IIIISAE4pISAE30II6820SAE 15WIISAE 10WIDEXRON IIIARCTIC FLUID (OW)IIr-.,.,r-N -USE HYDRAULIC TRANSMISSION FLUID TYPE C-4.COLD WEATHER OPERATIONIMPORTANT: Do not use hydraulic transmissionfluids that contain an "EP" additiveor a mUlti-viscosity lubricant.IMPORTANT: Viscosity grade selection is criticalfor cold weather operation of thetransmission. Preheat and properstart-up procedures are requiredwhen operating transmission belowthe oil's MINIMUM criticaltemperature which is viscosity gradedependant.NOTE The words "oil", "fluid" and "transmissionfluid" are used in this manual to mean,HYDRAULIC TRANSMISSION FLUID, theoperating and lubricating oil for thistransmission.HOT WEATHER OPERATIONNOTE The chart indicates the MINIMUMtransmission operating temperature for severalstandard SAE viscosity grades.Use higher viscosity grades (Le.,SAE 30) for: Ambient temperatures consistently above 30 C(86 F).PREHEAT TRANSMISSION FLUID WITH AUXILIARYSOURCE Frequent stop-and-go driving in hot weather. Preheat the transmission fluid to the MINIMUMtemperature before operating. High grade climbing in hot weather.ALTERNATE WARM-UP PROCEDURE: Operate transmission in neutral for approximately20 minutes or until oil is warmed to the MINIMUMtemperature.YZ,CTM84,10,3 -19-25AUG94CTM84 (02SEP94)10-6OF Series 150 and 2500909944

General InformationFILL THE TRANSMISSION WITH OILAFTER INSTALLING TRANSMISSION IN VEHICLE: Park machine on level surface. Engage parking brake. block wheels. Put transmission in neutral. Remove dipstick, the dipstick tube is the normal oil filllocation. Begin filling operation by adding 19 liters (5 gal) ofrecommended oil. Start the engine, run at idle speed to fill the converterand oil lines. Check oil level on dip stick with engine running at idlespeed.IMPORTANT: Do not overfill transmission. This willcause overheating. Damage to thetransmission will result. Fill transmission to the full mark on dipstick withengine running at idle speed. Check oil level again when the transmission hasreached normal operating temperature 27-49 C(80-120 F).YZ,CTM84,10,2 -19-13JAN94::;TM84 (02SEP94)10-7DF Series 150 and 250090994
